Boris Lozhkin: Media Magnate and Ex-Member of the Government Supplies Frauds

Boris Lozhkin is the owner of numerous media since 2013. The legendary Ukrainian Media Holding was at his property as well. He managed to sell it in order to enlarge his wealth and to go on with the position of the Head of President Administration when Petro Poroshenko got the power. However, he was fired rather soon.

From the Very Beginning

Boris Lozhkin managed to include in his holding more than 12 famous media and online platforms like “Forbes”, “Correspondent”, “Vogue”, and others. That’s why the selling bargain was really grand.

From the start of the UMH’s activity, its editions and radio stations used to publish ugly facts about Yanukovich, his family, and his comrades. When that clique captured the power in Ukraine they decided to make those media shut up. For this purpose, they suggested Boris Lozhkin sell the holding to their minion Kurchenko. Boris Lozhkin was too smart or too unscrupulous to initiate the battle and the deal was approved.

To Buy not to Pay

Boris Lozhkin had asked for severely inflated prices but no problems appeared because the money was not from the purchaser but from the country’s budget. It took 8 months to arrange everything without a hitch. The first state faces were engaged in the bargain, including Rinat Akhmetov, Petro Poroshenko, and some others.

Their diligence was so fruitful, that even the Austrian bank suspected nothing and accepted the transfer. Boris Lozhkin put up to half a billion dollars in his pocket and didn’t pay a cent for of taxes. Everything would be great if Igor Mazepa did not fail. He had been involved in the process in order to remove the financial risks in case of their appearance. However, the complete opposite happened.

Dirty Deal Became Dirtier

Boris Lozhkin took into account neither Mazepa’s passion for frauds not his ignorance of the international laws. That’s why the investigation was initiated by the Austrian authorities.

When Boris Lozhkin immersed in this situation he started inventing the ways of avoiding the scandal. He really managed to do it when appointed Igor Mazepa as a head of a state “Ukreximbank”. His task was to show the bank willingness to assume the functions of arbitrator and supervisor. The result is obvious – all the aspects of the deal were buried.

Nowadays and Future

Despite the UMG’s editions continue to work, the most brilliant and honest employees left them. American affiliate “Forbes” canceled the magazine to use its name. However, all the members of that deal, including the main “heroes” Boris Lozhkin and Igor Mazepa are living la Vida Loca.
