How to create or re-arrange QuickBooks Online Bookmarks

Step 1- Make/ establish a “New Chrome Person.”

To create a new person

  • Click the top right of the browser window
  • Choose settings
  • Scroll down on “settings” page
  • When you see “people”- click “Add ”
  • Select the icon to be associated with the “New ”
  • Select to add a “Desktop shortcut” for the new user and pin it to the “Taskbar in Windows.”
  • Once a “New Person” is created, a new Chrome browser window will open up. You can customize the new bookmark canvas.

Note: If you do not view a “Bookmark bar” in the new window you need to click ctrl+shift+B to reflect it.

Step 2: Customize your Bookmarks

The next is to create your “Bookmarks” and organize them well. To create the Bookmarks, you need to

  • Select the star at the far right of the address bar.
  • Save the Bookmark directly on the bar

Step 3- Export “BookMarks”

  • Click Organise>> Export bookmarks to an “HTML ”
  • When the save window “opens” – go to the location on your computer where the file will be saved (ensure to save it at a place where you can easily find it)

Step 4- Time to import “BookMarks.”.

Now the exported bookmarks in the HTML file have to be scaled to clients or others utilize them to navigate within QBO. This you can do by sending files to others through email else you can store them in a shared cloud drive such as “DropBox or Sharefile.” Before you start the process, it is important to create a “new QBO-only” chrome person on the system that will be used. After this new user is created, you will view a message in the Bookmarks telling you to import “Bookmarks.” After that follow the below steps:

  • Select Bookmarks HTML file as the import type.

  • Go to your saves “HTML file” from step 3

Note: If Bookmarks already exist on your bar when you choose the “import” function, then the bookmark file will create a new folder. You can organize this folder using the “Bookmark Manager.”
